How Arsenal could line up against West Bromwich Albion

Arsenal may be without no fewer than 10 players for Wednesday's EFL Cup second-round clash with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Mikel Arteta is already without Eddie NketiahGabriel Magalhaes and Thomas Partey until after the international break, while Kieran Tierney and Gabriel Martinelli are fresh doubts after coming off injured during Sunday's defeat to Chelsea, although both men have quickly returned to training.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made his return from coronavirus off the bench against the Blues, although Arteta affirmed that the captain was highly unwell before the match, while Ben WhiteWillianAlex Runarsson and Alexandre Lacazette - the latter of whom could yet return this week - have all tested positive recently

Runarsson is also back in training, but Aaron Ramsdale should be handed his debut for the Gunners in goal, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles could feature on the right-hand side of defence following his loan spell at West Brom last term.

Nuno Tavares should earn a start at left-back while Tierney nurses his leg injury, and with Albert Sambi Lokonga in need of a rest, Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka could form the midfield pairing.

Bukayo Saka is still working his way back to full fitness and may drop out for Reiss Nelson here, with Nicolas Pepe continuing on the opposite flank at The Hawthorns.

Martin Odegaard's visa issue has been sorted in time for him to make his second debut for the club, but Emile Smith Rowe could continue in the hole for the time being while Folarin Balogun leads the line.
