Kaithapram Vishwanathan: Prime Minister expresses condolences on death of Music Director Kaithapram Vishwanathan
He died at the MVR Cancer Center in Kozhikode after being treated for cancer for over a year.
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the untimely death of famous musician Kaithapram Vishwanathan is extremely sad. He is a music director who has successfully tried to give the impression of classical music in songs for Malayalam movies. Kaithapram Viswanathan is a genius who has become a favorite of movie song critics with a few songs. The CM expressed its condolences to his family and music lovers.
He died at the MVR Cancer Center in Kozhikode after being treated for cancer for over a year. Kaithapram Viswanathan is the younger brother of Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, lyricist and music director. He has composed the music for many hit songs such as "Karineelakannazhaki", "Kayyethum Doore Oru Kuttikkalam", "Neeyoru Puzhayaay", "Enikoru Pennundu", "Saare Saare Sambare" and "Adeti Adateti Alilakkiliye".
Viswanathan composed the music for 23 films, including Thattakam, Kannaki, Thilakkam, Annorikkal, Divainamathil, Ekantham. He received the State Government Award in 2001 for his background music for the film Kannaki. Kaithapram Viswanathan's music was 100% Malayalam.
Most of the songs he composed were written by his brother Kaithram Damodaran Namboothiri. Viswanathan entered the film industry after graduating from Swathi Thirunal Music College. Besides Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, he also has brothers and sisters, Vasudevan Namboothiri, Saraswathi and Thankam.
