India vs South Africa 1st Test, Centurion weather today: promising forecast for day 3, clear sky expected without rain

India vs South Africa First test, Centurion weather forecast: Persistent rain during the second day of the opening test between India and South Africa at Centurion washed away the day's game without a single ball being bowled. The city experienced nightly rains and intermittent rains during the first two sessions of Day 2, after which the umpires suspended the game for the day. Will India have a chance to pick up where it left off on day one?

Well, that's finally good news for Indian cricket fans, as Tuesday will remain mostly sunny, pleasant and warm at all times, according to accuweather.com, with a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. However, there is a chance of cloudy weather during the afternoon, but no chance of rain during the day.

The second day ended up being a jet of water. The broadcast started off with live shots of rain, and although it calmed down for a while, the gusts made matters worse. While SuperSport Park's drainage system was top notch, there was simply no room with the rain falling every time a small ray of hope appeared for the game to resume.

The first official inspection was scheduled for 3:00 p.m. IST, but 15 minutes before the umpire could come out, the rain gods pushed harder again. Another inspection was scheduled for 4:14 p.m., but again to no avail. Post that, it started to fall into Centurion and that was the beginning of what seemed like a washout. The inevitable happened around 6:30 p.m. IST when the game was officially suspended.

On day one, India won the toss and chose to bat against South Africa, following which the two openers, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, gave the visitors an impressive start with their record 117 run. They became the third Indian opening pair to score a century stand in a test in South Africa.

On the way to the scoreboard, Mayank Agarwal scored a gritty 60 before he and Cheteshwar Pujara were made redundant in successive deliveries. Captain Virat Kohli looked well established in his 35 before also returning to the pavilion chasing a wide-ish delivery from Lungi Ngidi. Rahul, however, went ahead to score an unbeaten record of 122, the highest score by an Indian opener in a test in South Africa and was ably assisted by under pressure Ajinkya Rahane, who has scored 40 of 81 deliveries.

India will resume on the third day on 3/27.
