Due to the Covid situation, the Ranji Trophy was not played for nearly two years. For those who were aiming to put on the Indian whites or were about to be selected in the test team, it was a huge dent to their chances.
Ranji's comeback last week was a boon for many domestic cricketers, and Rohit Sharma had some words of encouragement for the performers.
"All I can tell you is keep scoring runs and the opportunity will come like for (Hanuma) Vihari, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and all those guys, who are currently part of the Test team now," Rohit said.
💬 💬 "Keep scoring runs and the opportunity will arise."

"A lot of these guys, who are scoring runs, taking wickets, you have to keep scoring runs and keep taking wickets.
"You have to keep your head down and keep doing your job, that's what I can tell them at this moment and that's all we are expecting them to do. And then there will come a time and the opportunity will arise."
"Their focus now has to be to get more and more runs instead of worrying about getting selected," Rohit said.
