Unbelievable!, BMW just revealed its First Color-Changing Car, it looks like Chameleons

BMW unveiled a crazy new concept at this year's big tech show: A color-changing car.

Drivers can change the color of the car with the push of a button, instantly, the automaker said.

German luxury car maker BMW unveiled a fascinating and futuristic new concept at this year's Consumer Electronics Show: a car capable of changing colors while on ride.

Instead of the standard metal panels, the concept car features e-ink technology, the same technology that is used to power Amazon's most popular e-reader, the Kindle, as a way to change colors in an instant.

The concept was showcased in real time with a modified version of the BMW iX, the company's new flagship electric SUV, during CES this week in Las Vegas.

And some media took a closer look at the vehicle going through all sorts of wild color changes, demonstrating a variety of different patterns that could be applied:

Beyond the car panels there are also e-ink panels on the wheels which also allow them to change.

“In the future, BMW customers will be able to change the color of their car with the push of a button,” said Stella Clarke, BMW project lead, in a video announcing the new prototype.

It remains to be seen when that future will be: BMW hasn't said when the "Flow" technology that debuted this week will arrive in any of its cars, but it stands to reason that it will come first on the upcoming BMW iX model.
